The assignment was to come up with 7 concepts and execute about 3-4 of them in a large scale format. However, I fell in love with all 7 of my concepts.
In no particular order, the issues portrayed are: Mental Disabilities, Autism, language delay, fixation and distraction, the physical future of the earth we leave to our children, their possibility to shape the world, and willpower. As a mother, I’ve approached each canvas with my own emotional reactions regarded these issues.
My Monument Series is to remind adults, as well as children, that their abilities will always outweigh their disabilities.
